Vineyard in a steep slope with a south exposure , grey marl and siliceous-calcareous soil on surface with chalk vein starting from 80cm depth.
Vineyard
Barbera vines coming from a massal selection, on Rupestris du Lot, planted in 1928, which gives 10.000 stocks/ha. Due to its age, this vineyard requires special cares starting from the pruning which has to be studied for, mainly at “gobelet”. In this vineyard the horn-manure together with the nettle herbal tea made up excellent vitality results. A mainly manual work is required in this vineyard due to its high stock density and its steep slope.
Vinification and Refinement
The grapes is vinified with stalks and the fermentation is given to native yeasts. The refinement has made in used barriques , time is decided by the wine. As per the Renaissance des Appellations Rules the wines do not have any treatments neither clarifies. The only oenological coadjutant allowed is the sulfur dioxide inferior to 70 mg/lt.
Tasting
An unusual Barbera, an earth- wine with strong minerality, always very precise. It meets different moods , suitable to reflect or introspect, but also to relax with special people.
